Installing ESXI

I am just starting on the evaluation after a course.

I have downloaded ESXi to my PC and have extracted the file to a directory and have copied all the files to a CD.

I expect the CD to install ESXi when I restart the machine. It doesn't

Does anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong.

Kind regrads

Frank

what is happening? Is the CD you made bootable? You should get an ISO to download, you shouldn't have to extract anything. What hardware are you trying to install onto?

Thanks Troy

The RAR program started unpacking things and I let it go on. It is a while since I playwd with files and things.

Once I made sure the file ending was ISO and used an ISO burner it worked wonderfully.

I am trying to use a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo with dual Turion 64 processors.

The install failed for lack of RAM but I am looking to see if I can upgrade to 3Gb.

Thanks again

Troy

I just looked and the max RAM my machine supports is 2Gb. So that is a dead end.

Is there anywhere where I can get to Sphere on a cloud to practicese for the exam?

Kind regards
