I just finished installing VCenter Server simple install. I'm confused on what to do now. When I look in the VMWare folder in the start menu I see VCenter Orchestartor client, but I don't know the login. I'm reading about a VCenter Server Appliance but not sure if this is a separate install or what. As far as the VCenter Server pluging for VSphere Client I'm unable to install it. When I go to manag pluge-ins I see Installed plug-ins and Available plug-ins but nothing happens when I click on them. If I hit help an error message pops up that says "Object reference not set to an instance of an Object".
Any help is appreciated. I guess here are my main questions.
What is the next step after VCenter Server Installation?
What is the main application to manage your VCenter Server?
What is my plug-in error about?
With the simple install you have installed vCenter Single Sign On, Inventory Service, and vCenter Server on the same host. Now all you need to do is install the vSphere Client and vSphere Web Client and make sure that you can access the vCenter Server instance.
Install the vSphere Client;
I would recommend reading the post installation documentation, which contains all this information;
Can you post a screenshot of the plugin error?
Cheers,
Jon
if this is the inital set-up of the vCenter i would reccomend giving it a static IP address. you will then you will be able to download the vCenter login client onto your pc and then loginto it either using root or if you have it configured to the domain then a domin\user. once you are then loged in you will be able to add you all your hosts and view the indivdual vm's.

Ok, so I didn't know all I had to do was login to the vcenter server with the vsphere client. I did that and it worked. Thanks for your help!
