Installation Error on ESXi 4.1

Hi there!

I am getting an error while installing VMWare on my unit. I get this error saying:

"..Unable to load module vmware/vmkmod/wmfs3 : Faiure"..

What could this possibly mean?

My hardware specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon X2 240 64-bit

M2N68-AM SE2

Thanks

The most likely cause is that the hardware you are using is not supported.

vSphere requires that hardware be on the HCL

But may I also ask if ESXi is processor "brand" dependent? As tested, installer does not continue in AMD processor, but in Intel, it does

Thanks

No Esxi is not brand dependant, there are many AMD systems as well as Intel listed on the HCL and ESXi is happy to work on either platform.
