Install ESXi 5.5 on HPE ProLiant 380 Gen10 Server

Hi@all,

we have the challange to temporarily install VMware ESXi 5.5 on a brand new HP DL380 Gen10 Server (because of installed VMware Horizon 6.0.1 limitation).

All support matrixes and QuickSpecs are negative. Officially HPE Gen10 Servers are only supported with ESXi 6.0U3 an higher.

But is there an unofficial way to do that manually with original VMware ESXi 5.5 U3 ISO and specific HP DL380 Gen10 tools/drivers?

Thanks.

Martin

The is some solution to create customized ESXi image but when there is no driver for ESXi 5.5, so you can not add proper driver.

Hi,

Temporaly we need to install ESXi 5.5 on HPE Proliant DL380 Gen10 Xeon-G 6240.

How do you install this version?

Creating a custom image and adding some drivers? Or using HP DL380 Gen9 ESXi image and adding drivers?

Thanks!
