Individual VMs stop routing at random

At times, some VMs will stop being able to send/receive any traffic from other VMs or physical devices both inside and outside of own vlan.

For example,

server1 is 10.10.10.1, server2 is 10.10.10.2, server3 is 10.10.10.3... (VLAN1)

pc1 10.11.11.1, pc2 10.11.11.2, pc3 10.11.11.3 (VLAN2)

Most of the time they can all communicate as they are supposed to, sometimes though

server1 will only be able to communicate with server3, pc2, pc3

If i add a second NIC and disable the original NIC, everything starts working properly...

I have tried changing the NICs from E1000, VXMNET2, VXMNET3... All produce same results given enough time. Sometimes this will not happen for weeks and does not always happen to same VMs.

We had been experiencing this issue first on 5.5 and still on 6.

Thanks for any help!

Hi marcjrajs and welcome to the community,

Just wondering if the VM's start talking on the network again if you change the IP address within the guest rather than adding a new virtual network adapter?

Could you also please attach how the vSwitch or rather the PortGroup's - looking for something like this:

Thanks and kind regards.
