I have a Windows 2008 R2 Standard VMware guest Esxi 5.1 Vsphere client 5.1
The guest was design as Thin Provisioned allowable to expand if needed.
I have read both or these articles
http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalI...
http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&...
All went go up untill I got into Disk Managment to extend volume when I get to the last section of extending the volume it states: I am trying to extend the data 1 and data 2 disk that were created.
I dont want to turn them into dynamic disk so what do i do next or is this normal?
Disks are all one disk in VMware and not separate disks, instead I have separate partitions
Can I
Create the 200GB as F:, copy E to F:
wipe E and merge it with D
Rename F to E and not be in the same boat?
It might help if you'd explain the current disk/partition layout, and what (which partitions) you want to increase.

Sorry AP

Also can you see my picture I posted?
With only a single .vmdk you will need to use a third party tools to move partitions in order to get adjacent fee disk space for the partitions you want to increase. Depending on the free disk space you have, and whether you plan to increase the disk space again later, it might be worth considering to use VMware Converter, and create a separate virtual disk for each partition. That's how I usually configure virtual machines to be able to increase the volumes/partitions on the fly.

PS: I don't see a picture in one of your posts.
If you have a virtual machine which contains two partitions on one single vDisk, you can use VMware vCenter Converter to split these two partitions into individual VMDKs:
• open VMware vCenter Converter
• select „convert machine“
• go through the wizzard until „Options“
• select the option „Data to copy“ and click „Edit“:
Now change the data copy type to „Select volumes to copy“ and click „Advanced…“.
With „Add disk“ you can create a new virtual disk. Then mark a partition and say „Move down“ to change the destination layout as you want it.
In this wizzard you can change some other settings, too if necessary:
– change the size of the partition
– change the destination datastore
