I have a sandbox ESXi 5 / vCenter 5 environment using VMware Standard vSwitches. If I move a VM (with one virtual NIC) from one Port Group to another Port Group, it shows up as if it were in BOTH port groups in all of the possible GUI screens.
If I connect directly to the ESXi 5 with VIC, I can see the correct configuration. This could be very troublesome in production environments. Is this a bug?

It looks like your VM has a snapshot!? With a snapshot you will see the currently active network/port group as well as the one to which the VM was connected when you took the snapshot. Once you delete the snapshot the "old" connection will disappear.

I have never faced this issue with vcenter5.. but i would suspect..it might get fixed with below workaround.
Also once disconnect esxi host and remove from vcenter and add it back to vcenter. might also fix this issue.
if not fixed with above might be i will look in this area.
this has to be looked in VC database.
try purging the database and see if this fixes.
Have already completely switched the ESXi 5 from one vCenter installation to another. The duplicated network was still reported!
Thx, though!
If possible put the screen shot of network setting with duplicate display..
Here's the view in vCenter:
Here is the VM Settings:
Here's the view from client-ESXi direct connect:

Yes as a.p said your VM has snapshot. and you have changed the adapter and hence you see both the network connection see active even after changing the port group.
Delete the snapshot and see this will be fixed for sure..
