I have some Cisco UCS C series servers which are supplied with a cut down version of ESXi 6.0 and are used as part of Cisco's Business Edition 7000 telephony solution.
The supplied hypervisor does not support adding the hosts to a vCenter server. The licensing tab reports the version as:
VMware vSphere 6 Foundation for Embedded OEMs
I have tried installing a new signed certificate obtained using a CSR but this failed with a message "Failed to import new SSl certificate" and "Failed - cannot change the host configuration"
I have tried importing the Root CA cert as well but that also fails.
Is what I am trying to do supported or will it only work if the host is managed by a vCenter server?
Any help or suggestions most welcome
