I had a VM in VMWare workstation and export the VM to a OVF package. I then wanted to import that OVF into my ESXI server as a vm. The error I get is "the OVF package requires unsupported hadrdware. details: line 25: unsupported hardware family "VMX-12"
I should also mention that the VM was OSX 10.11.

Hi,
Virtual HW verstion 12 ("VMX-12") is not compatible with the current releases of ESXi. Please find the ESXi/ESX hosts and compatible virtual machine hardware versions list in following KB.

You can use the workarounds mentioned in this article to fix the problem. The article is for vmx-10 but it should work for vmx-12 too.
