Problem: After upgrade from ESX4.1 to ESXi5.0 , Management IP information is changed.
Description : We performed upgrade of ESX4.1 to ESXi 5.0.
ESX4.1 was having 2 IPs ( 1 for ESX service console 10.10.32.25 & 1 for VMotion 10.10.33.25 ). After upgrade ESX4.1 VMotion IP 10.10.33.25 got mapped to ESXi management .
It should nt be the case. We need 10.10.32.25 as Management IP.
Server is isolated from network & we are not able to ping it anymore. Pls suggest forward path.
Was this an in place upgrade? If it was the management IP address should not have changed - to change it wou will have to login into the console of the ESXi host and change the iP address there ot the original management network -
If it was not an in place upgrade look at the cabling to you ESXi host because you might be connecting to a port that is not on the management subnet

I forgot to mention one point.
Server was part of nexus1000v vds .
It was a planned upgrade and after upgrade ips got changed.
We didnt remove server from vds configuration while upgrade.
