Huge size of a disk storage

Hi,

We have a file server with Windows 2008 R2 and we are looking to offer to client a 2TB disk space for the files.

What would be the best way to provisioned a 2 TB hard disk drive for a server ? VMFS or RDM

We are using vSphere 4

Thanks in advance

Sebastien

As per the VMware standard recommendation if you are assigning the LUNS for the VMFS file system..then it should be 512GB - 512KB.

In the current scenario if you are looking it out for 2TB disk for the VM, then you should go for the RDM. Since it would be dedicated for the VM and due to the less I/O request the performace would be better and it would be easy to manage.
