Is there any way to upgrade VMware HW /TOOLS /NIC without downtime?

How will upgrade the VMs VMware HW /TOOLS /NIC to bunch of VMs?

Please let us know

Hi,

You have to shutdown your VM for upgrading hardware version.

There is no way, because VMX file should re-load.

For Vmware tools , yes you can ..

use the option from edit settings ---> options-- > vmware tools --> check and update vmware tools during power recycle

this will check for tools and update it with the latest one without downtime .

VM hardware version needs a reboot to reflect the changes , and as well NIC .
