How to setup same physical Cluster environment into virtual environment

Dear team,

I have one windows cluster environment having two physical servers with following details.

Physical Server configuration

OS: Windows Server 2008R2 Enterprise

CPU – 32

Memory – 32 GB

Storage: As below

C: 100 GB(local)

 178 GB(local)

I: 399 GB(shared)

J: 199 GB(shared)

K: 100 GB(shared)

L: 297 GB(shared)

T: 1 GB(shared)

Q: 1 GB(shared)

Want to setup same configuration in virtual environment. Will process the plan in this way

1) create 2 new VM with same config as physical

2) Install MS cluster role on these VMs

3) Migrate data from Physical to Virtual

Having query in step 1, do I need to map RDM or vmdk to VMs. Need ur assistance on the same.

regards

Mr VMware

For all shared drives, you can create rdm disks respectively and enable bus sharing on both the VMs to share the disks.

Check the following article which will be helpful while setting up MSCS cluster
