How to save a physical machine to an image file?

I am trying to use the covnerter tool from vmware to convert a physical machine to an image for transport abilities, however, all it is allowing me to do is to save it directly to a server. How can I save it to an image file?

What version are you using? On the Destination page, can you not set the destination type to "VMware Workstation or other VMware VM"? Or is this not what you want?

I got mine from: https://www.vmware.com/tryvmware/?p=converter

It does not look at all like your screenshot.

Where did you get that one?

Thanks

I used the same link. What version are you using? My screenshot is from 4.0.1 build-161434, maybe 4.3 is different.

Select "VMware Workstation or other VMware virtual machine" as Destination type.
