How to reduce the size of the disk of a Windows 2008 VM?

Hello,

I want to change a Windows 2008 VM with a thin disk in thick disk eager zero.

Before to do that I need to reduce the size of that disk (from 250 GB to 80 GB).

What is the proper way to do that?

Thank you very much

Welcome to the Community - I would use VMware Converter which will allow you to make both changes during one operations - this of course assumes you have the disk space for the VMDKs of both machines

Hello,

Thank you very much for your response. I use VM converter but when I try to reduce the size of the disk I obtain the (french) message "Une erreur générale est survenue: Invalid fault".

So I guess there is something else to do before converting the VM.

Best regards,
