How to recognize extent ON ESX4

Hello

I'm constructing 5ESX and shared-storage with IBM Blase S &HS22

I added extent for shared datastore. It consists of 5 partitions.

After did that, Some ESX hosts have problems.

/var/log/vmkernel

vmkernel: 0:02:36:25.622 cpu14:4119)ALERT: LVM: 2054: One

or more devices not found (file system )

And I found some diffrerence between 1st ESXhost that I added extent and other ESX hosts

1st host

  1. esxcfg-volume -l

#

  1. vmkfstools -P /vmfs/volumes/Shared_storage/

VMFS-3.33 file system spanning 5 partitions.

File system label (if any): Shared_storage

Mode: public

Capacity 7839657492480 (934560 file blocks * 8388608), 7839028346880 (934485 blocks) avail

UUID: 4b8e09a4-571006ce-8b55-00215e994ab2

Partitions spanned (on "lvm"):

naa.6005076b075436ff4b88f18100000016:1

naa.6005076b075436ff4b88f13c00000015:1

3rd host

#esxcfg-volume -l

VMFS3 UUID/label: n.a./n.a.

Can mount: No (some extents missing)

Can resignature: No (some extents missing)

Extent name: naa.6005076b075436ff4b88f18100000016:1 range: 1495296 - 2990591 (MB)

]

  1. vmkfstools -P /vmfs/volumes/Shared_storage/

VMFS-3.33 file system spanning 3 partitions.

File system label (if any): Shared_storage

Mode: public

Capacity 7839657492480 (934560 file blocks * 8388608), 4698333511680 (560085 blocks) avail

UUID: 4b8e09a4-571006ce-8b55-00215e994ab2

Partitions spanned (on "lvm"):

naa.6005076b075436ff4b88f06d00000012:1

naa.6005076b075436ff4b88f0b200000013:1

naa.6005076b075436ff4b88f13c00000015:1

(One or more partitions spanned by this volume may be offline)

I think 3rd ESX should spanned 5 partitions

othre ESX hosts have same probrem except 1st ESX but Missing partitions are random.

Could I do anything for this?

I will make VM. so I can erase shared datastore.

Hello

I seeked reason.

And I found that logical volumes I made on IBM Disk Storage Module had had different LUN No.

for ex .

ESX_host1- volume1:LUN0

ESX_host2- volume1:LUN3

so I re-mapped hosts to logical volumes, and LUN NO has fixed.

ESX_host1- volume1:LUN0

ESX_host2- volume1:LUN0

But device Identification numbers are still different. I did rescan several times.

LUN

naa.6005076b075436ff4b88f06d00000012 0

naa.6005076b075436ff4b88f18100000016 1

naa.6005076b075436ff4b88f18100000016 4

The error message avails again.

Can I change id number correctly?
