How to make a checkdisk on ESXi 4?

I've installed a ESXi 4U2, and I think the 500GB. hard disk where it's installed is starting to fail due to bad sectors (maybe). How can I check this point in ESXi? How to make a surface scan of the disk without losing the data? I know there's a hidden console in ESXi, but I didn't found any disk checker.

other than using a hardware manufacture CD I don't know of I way to force ESXi during boot to do error checking on your HDD
