How to install multiple RAID controllers on the same platform?

Hi,

Anybody knows how to install multiple RAID controllers on ESXi5?

I got 2 controllers with the same model name and install sucessfully if I only use one of them individually.

But if simultaneously install these two pieces, vSphere just recognises one.

I am sure both of them are workable.

Any commens are welcome.

Thanks,

I have the same problem, I have two LSI hba adapters on the same ESXi 5.1 host, all the drives are listed during boot process.

However, the ESXi host only "sees" the drives from the first LSI adapter... anyone knows if there is a "fix" for this???

~ # lspci | grep -i storage
00:06:00.0 Mass storage controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic LSI2008 [vmhba1]
00:08:00.0 Mass storage controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic LSI2008 [vmhba3]

This is a major issue for me... and for others, I suppose.

I don't understand why ESXi wouldn't see the drives from all hba's, like ANY other operating system... this seems like a serious drawback/limitation which doesn't make sense to me!
