How to install ESXi 4.1 on a Volume of a LSI MR9620-8i Controller

Dear all,

i am stucking here at a install of a ESXi 4.1 on a Volume of a LSI MR9620-8i Controller.

The ESXi Installtion on see a small part of something like a volume ... the install dont see the full volume of 1.6 TB.

How can i do a installtion of ESXi 4.1 on the 1.6 TB volume ?

What went wrong here ...

Please, help me ....

Welcome to the Community,

sorry, but I don't understand your question. You are saying you don't see the 1.6 TB, but the screen shot shows it!?

Can you please clarify what you want to achieve?

Btw. There's a typo in the controller name, it's an LSI MR9260-8i.

lol i saw 1.6GB too, and i think i´m crazy ? and i erase my last post....lollll

You can check if this controller is listed in HCL http://www.vmware.com/go/hcl and check too if controller (Utility controller) see all 1.6TB or need be initialized.

volume is initialized.

but this controller ... would please look 4 if its on the hcl ? (dont know how)

You didn't say anything about your LUNs, etc.  Maybe this thread will help:

When you create your RAID volumes, you have to set autocarve.

To ensure the logical volume on the RAID shows up correctly, can you try to start the host using e.g. a Windows 2008 R2 DVD to see what disk size is presented during installation?

May you can do what´s a.p said. This test will be fine to know if don´t have problem of Hardware.

UPDATE!

its a controller thing ....

creating an automatic raid6 ... esxi found the full 1.6 TB
