How to get the storage controller information in the ESX Service Console

Hi Friends,

How to get the storage controller information in the ESX service Console, such as the storage type, storage name, etc.

Thank you.

click on the host, then configuration, click on datastore and you could see the type (local, iscsi, fc and etc) and sometimes the manufacturer as well.

Hi,

Not sure this is going to be much help but here you go.

  • esxcfg-info --storage
  • Browse to /proc/scsi and view scsi - this will show the LUNs and array vendor, etc
  • Browse to /proc/scsi/qla2xxx and view 1 or 2 - this will show the target WWN which you could translate to arrays (NOTE qla2xxx is the HBA name for my environment therefore substitute with you one)

Does this help?

Thanks and kind regards.
