We're using ESXi 5 (the free version) and need to monitor the HP DL385 servers that it's running on.
We have the HP-ESXi5.0uX-bundle-1.2.26.zip from HP and are using HP SIM version 7.
But the HP docs aren't clear on how to install this, and the ONLY vmware communities articles I can find are either for ESXI 4.x or older versions of HP software where the files names/instructions don't match.
For example, the :
says to use:
Fourth step: Perform the ESXi systems’ bundle installation using the vihostupdate utility, following the installation instructions to perform the task for each version of ESXi.
But the link for ESXi 5 takes you to a broken link
And Step 5 says to Discover the agent, but other community articles say NOT to discover it.
you've followed the links provided for the offline bundle from ther below site?

Yes, if you follow those links you can download the 1.2.6 version that I already said we're using.
We can "install" it using the instructions, but you can't seem to do anything with it with HP SIM.
We used the:
Procedure for Installing Offline Bundles on an ESXI 5.0 Host using Vsphere CIL 5.0 esxcli Utility
We followed the installation procedures provided for the 1.2-26 bundle and executed the esxcli command from a putty session to the esxi host. The bundle was previously copied to the /tmp directory. The installation indicated that the vibs were successfully installed. However, when we use esxcli command to verify the vib list, the hp vibs are not listed.
Success.
We made sure the Acceptance Level was set to PartnerSupported.
We then installed the esxi hp utilities bundle and rebooted.
All vibs for both bundles now show up.
The system was able to be discovered by HP SIM using the system's ESXi root/password for WBEM credentials.
