How to disable teh HBA to rescan the to avoid VI client can't access the ESX.

Hi Friends,

When the ESX Server lost the connection to the Storage, we can see lots of error messages appears in the /var/log/vmkernel file.

And can't access the esx server using the vi client, but we can access the ESX Service Console using the ssh.

I think this may be caused by the HBA to rescan luns, but how to disable the HBA to rescan the luns?

thanks.

I don't think there is a way to disable an HBA per say, but you could always just pull the fiber cables.

Thanks for you reply.

So there is no way to stop the rescan and let the esx server to be no responding status by the vi client?

Do you want to disable the HBAs? Or do you want to rescan the HBAs?

If you want to rescan check this out:

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=100398...

There are commands to run from the COS to force a rescan
