How to disable control Alt Delete on VMware Linux Guests

by mistake one of support person pressed control Alt delete soft button on VMware guest web console and guest invoked reboot. this was a RedHat guest.

can this be avoided from VMware VCenter end.

I got to know this can be eliminated from RedHat OS by setting up /etc/init/control-alt-delete.conf file.

but I'm searching solution from VMware end as we have more than 500 RedHat guests.

note: vSphere Client version 7.0.2.00500

It took some time to get my head around this also. I am running my  tech news site on a Linux guest at the moment and I come up with this solution. Have you tried this?

Try commenting out "ctrlaltdel" in this this file:

/etc/inittab

If using Ubuntu, try commenting out the entire contents of the following file:

/etc/event.d/control-alt-delete
