How to create a RamDisk under ESXi 5?

Hello,

This is for virtual Appliance Performance testing in lab, so no critical production data and no VMware support is required here .

Can we create a Ramdisk under ESXi 5?

My Goal is then to create a VMFS on the Ramdisk to run a dedicated Virtual Appliance and then benchmark with IOMeter...

You can create a RAMDisk in the VM itself, we've done that (such as Linux using GRUB).

Bleh, only problem with the iSCSI way is that 3000 IOPS for a RAMDisk is terrible. Looks like he's just pegging the virtual interface.

But may be fast enough for the OP.
