How to copy data from USB 3.0 HDD to Datastore

Hi all

I want to copy all the .iso files to the datastore in ESXi5. but i have a USB3.0 HDD, when i am atteching it to the ESXi5 its not detecting or from where should i access i don't know. can anyone help me on this?

the data is about 50GB so if i connect through network cable then it is very slow & it takes days together i hope.

What if you configure a VM for passthrough, does that work?  If USB is detected, it shouldn't matter if it's 2.0 or 3.0 unless the USB Port doesn't support 3.0 devices, but most 3.0 devices are backwards compatible

Yea but i think if i configure the VM as passthrough then i can copy the data to the guest. But actually i want to copy the data to the datastore.
