I will have an exchange server on VM which will be installed with Netbackup agents to do backup and whcih is capable of restoring a single mail from a mail box. Since my VM is running on HS22 Blades , which currently has a limitation of 1 Gb through put and backing up 1 TB over the lan will be a killing experience.
If I had a physical enviromnet , I would have installed additional HBAs and zone/mask my Virtual Tapes from my Disk Library , Install Media server to do a SAN backup of my data, which will be much faster.
What will I do to do a san backup , if it is a vm . I know , VCB or storage API's can take image backups and file level restores but wont be able to do a single mail restore capability .
If I have 8 ESX servers in one cluster using , can I use Passthrough HBAs to access external Tape Drives ?
Please help .
