How to clone ESX 4.1

Hi anyone tried cloning ESX 4.1 any special steps to note?

As mentioned before it's neither recommended to clone ESXi nor is it supported. I'd recommend you take a look at unattended installation (Kickstart) for mass installations.

You can use VMware standalone converter. http://vmware.com/go/converter

Steps:

  1. Upgrade to ESXi 5
  2. Use Image Builder to create your own custom image
  3. Create a Host Profile
  4. Auto Deploy

Done.  It's not easy and requires Enterprise Plus licenses, but you'll have a supportable configuration for mass deployments.

thks for the info i'm try to clone the hypervisior for mass repaid deployment any suggestion?
