How to change Datastore for VMs

Our datastore is based on Netapp NFS. Now my netapp need be upgraded, and IP address and the netapp hostname was changed.

How can I change the datastore for my VMs? I have thousands of VMs.

Of course before I upgrade my netapp, I will shutdown all VMs. And datastore in the hosts are lost.

So I am thinking if there is a easier way to change some configuration file on the VMs or hosts to the new datastore name or IP?

Thanks!

Do you want to move them from NFS datastores to VMFS datastores temporary?

No. Actually my purpose is to change the VMFS datastore name or IP address in hosts.

Of course I can sync the datastore between the old storage and new storage. So I can have both datastore mounted as NFS.

But I have to change it manually. I want to know if the script can help automatically?

you have to do storage VMotion for all the VMs one by one, it will take time but as i know there is no other option to change the datastore of the VMs.
