I am investigating a Replication technology which utilizes a "Replication Appliance" per ESXi Host and each of the Replication Appliances has one virtual disk per disk being replicated in the environment.
Example:
To keep the math simple, let's say I had 80 VMs with 2 virtual disks each on a three-host cluster. This solution would then require three Replication Appliances (one per ESXi Host), each appliance configured with 54 virtual disks! Mathematically, a VM can only have 60 disks total! Moreover this solution uses LSI Logic Parallel adapters.
Is there a problem with this configuration? Am I correct to be wary about deploying VMs with so many disks using LSI Logic Parallel adapters?
What are your thoughts?
