How long does ESXi take to boot?

Hi All,

I've got some blade servers configured to boot from SAN and to then join a DPM, DRS, HA cluster. At the moment they're taking around 6 minutes from standby to full operation in the cluster (according to the task timing). Would this be classed as an acceptable boot time or are there modifications that you can put in place to speed this process up (allowing for the fact that internal raid and any dhcp boot options disabled)?

Cheers,

Gavin

6 minutes is ok. I have about the same time for my hosts.

That seems pretty good to me. My stand-alone hosts take a good five minutes to the point of accepting vSphere client connections, my HA cluster members take considerably longer.
