Hi
Current version: 4.1
Production environment, can't afford issues and only very little downtime.
When would you feel confident with ESXi 5.5 ?
I can't find a lot of issues mentioned here in the community. Even though vCenter Server has released the first minor update, there is still none for ESXi 5.5.

I moved to 5.5 right after it released. Haven't faced any issues till now. Not even those that were mentioned on the communities. Most of them as far as i remember were regarding vCenter. For ESXi there is nothing that was reported as an issue as such. If you don't want to take chances you could upgrade to 5.1 and wait for the patch to come out for ESXi. Though lot of people would suggest you to move to the latest, its always better to run n-1 release on production.
that's my opinion ![]()
When would you feel confident with ESXi 5.5 ?
For my testing and playing around, I moved a week after it was released. But for production in my company, I still prefer 5.1. IMHO, if you are in production, you should not be in 4.1 atleast ![]()
IMO the vSphere 5.5 is ready prime time. The only reason I didn't update the production environment (for which I ensured all components are supported) yet is that the backup software we use doesn't support version 5.5 yet.
