Well, the easiest way would be to mount the VMDK that is the 😧 drive to another working VM and just copy the files off it, however if there is file corruption on the VMDK drive or you accidently deleted a bunch of files or formated the drive by mistake, you will need to install a 3rd party data recovery software and run it against the 😧 drive. It is very important that you make no data changes to that drive until you run the recovery program to give it the best chance at recoving the data.
