I am using the Debian Netinst CD to install the latest Debian, 8.5. When I load the iso and pull up the Console, I can only see a portion of the screen. I can see, half the menu, for example, to Install, Graphical Install, etc. I chose install instead of Graphical but there was no difference. Small, cut off screen. I tried various Video settings in VSphere. But it did not help. Other LiveCDs work fine.
How can I view the whole screen to install Debian? Thanks.
edit: Going to full screen does not work. Changing my PCs resolution did not help.
edit: Well, now it's the BIOS too, so I guess it's not related to my install.
You need to VMware Video Display driver for changing the screen size to full screen.
VMware Tools or OpenVM Tools has the driver or a driver like this.
if your distribution doesn't have it, so you can use virtual machine graphic capabilities.
Hello,
I just downloaded debian netinstall CD 8.5.
Then setup a custom virtual machine, selected hardware version 8, and debian 6 x64 as guest OS.
Booted from the iso and do get a normal screen when trying to install in graphical mode.
As you can see here:
This is when using the Virtual Infrastructure Client, not sure what you used to access the guest OS.
