How do I log what hardware setting were changed on VM from what to what (vCPU, RAM, harddisks a.o.)?
The status area only shows that settings were changed.
Best Regards
Peter
Hi, I think this is logged under vmware.log which is stored in the same directory as virtual machine configuration files.
Ok,
got any way to make them more readable? I'm having great difficulty identifying changes.

me too
Tried to find the user added virtual disk to virtual machine - unsuccessfully.
Unfortunately the data from vCenter tasks and events is very generic and hard to make sense of in detail or for audit purposes.
At VMworld they demoed a tech preview for the next major release with logging enhancements that are supposed to tackle these shortcomings:

Hi Peter,
please have a look a the two PowerCLI scipts:
Get Details About VM Task Reconfigure Events – PowerCLI - Matt Altimar's Blog
https://ssbkang.com/2015/06/18/powercli-report-audit-your-environment/
The first one shows you all "Device change" events,
the 2nd one additionally creates a nice and readable HTML report.
Best regards,
Marcin
