How do I Patch ESXi 4.1 ?? I have the free, unpaid one.. And I can't seem how to patch it like I was able to with 4.0
Please Help!
Thanks
You can use vihostupdate from the vSphere Command Line Interface (vCLI). You can find that download and documentation here - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vcli/. Essentially you'll download the latest firmware patch for ESXi, put your host into maintenance mode (you can use hostops from the vCLI for that) and then patch the system with vihostupdate.
You could also copy the patch file to ESXi and use esxupdate at the console, but the vCLI would be the preferred method.

I still use the 'vSphere Host Update Utility 4.0' which also patches my ESXi 4.1 servers. Comes with the installation of vSphere client (you can choose if you want to have it installed or not).
This is a good read:
