How can the vCenter vConverter be enabled?

I use evaluation vSphere update1. I was been told it should be enterprise version, which includs vCenter vConverter enterprise version.

I'm not sure. If yes, how can the vCenter vConverter be enabled?

Hi George,

you can install vCenter Converter by running autorun.exe from the vCenter Server installation CD. And then selecting vCenter Converter from the menu.

Yes, but ensure you have install your vsphere client after that you install the vCenter vConverter + enable the plugin (In vSphere Client). Then you will have a tab as " Import Machine "

vCentre Server 4.0 and Vshpare Client 4.0 had been installed before.Following the page, the vCenter Conveter installed today. But, I can.t see any changes, no a tab as " Import Machine ", why?

Did you enable the plugin after the installation as written by KamilAzmer?

In Plug-in Manager, I only can see:

vCenter Storage Monitering Enabled

vCenter Service status Disabled

The follwing error occured while script plugin from to connect to the remote server

vCenter hardware Staus Disabled

(same error message up)

So, I can't see other else plug-in. Where is it at?

Second problem is How I can fix the problem Unable to connect to the remote server. Meanwhile, on manu, I can't see tab Hardware Status

• Ensure your tomcat is running and another services vCenter also was running.

• Ensure that no duplicating installation.

• If you are using VC MS Cluster, you cannot use local account, must use domain account.

• Once you solve the issue (Unable to connect remotely, you need remove vConverter and installing back, and ensure that you see in " Plug-in Manager --> vCenter Converter " and need to enable it.

• Of course that u cannot see hardware status because of the Service status plug-in is disabled (refer to kb).
