How can commands be run from VMs to storage (VNX,EMC) ?

Hi,

We want to know how commands can be run from VMs to storage (VNX,EMC).

We are planning to have several VMs per ESXi5.1 that access one VMFS(VNX's LUN) and still thinking the number of VMs per ESXi.
And we are wondering if commands from those VMs run sequentially (one commnad at a time) to VNX'LUN?

If so, more VMx on one ESXi, more queues?
To prevent this, VMFS would be divided and put VMs to several ESXi servers, right?

Please advise us and if there is doc about this, please let me know.
Thank you very much in advance.

Welcome to the Community - What you have to consider is the number of VMs per LUN and the corresponding workloads that the VMs are running that will affect storage performance - for example you cannot have many VMs with a high disk load share the same LUNs -

Hi,

Thank you for your reply, and understood what you said.

And acutally our customer wants to know that...asked before, " we are wondering if commands from those VMs(on one VMFS) run sequentially (one commnad at a time) to VNX'LUN?  or commands can be accepted simultaneouslly?

Do you have any idea for this or any documents you have about  this?
