As per KB 1004795, the file "/etc/vmware/hostd/config.xml" is responsible for controlling the hostd logging behavior.
I would like to know if the file "/etc/logrotate.conf" also plays a part in controlling the hostd logging. This conf file allows to mention the duration of the log file like daily, weekly, etc. in addition to log file size and number of log files.
Whereas the config.xml allows to control only the size of the log file and the number of log files for files like vmkernel, vmkiscsid, etc.
So is there a way by which I can manage the rotation of the hostd log file like on a weekly or monthly basis??
