Host takes long to reconnect in vCenter after reboot

I have an ESX4 host and everytime I reboot it, it takes a LONG time to reconnect back in vCenter. I know the host is back up since I can SSH to it fine, but it won't reconnect in vCenter for a long time. When i manually select the reconnect option for that host, it tries for a while and fails.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks!

When SSH server is ready it does not mean that ESX is ready, cause there are also other services that must start.

And with a iSCSI storage (with software initiator) some extra time could be needed.

Also if you add 3th part tools you can increase this delay.

What kind of storage do you have?

Do you have 3th part tools (like Dell OpenManage) installed on your host?
