Host fails to initialise HA Agent - ESXi5.5

Hi all,

Environment:

1x HA/DRS Cluster

3x HP Proliant DL580G7 hosts

ESXi5.5 1746974

This morning I attached a HP Patch baseline (from Sep-2014) which had already been installed on another host few weeks ago.

The patching went okay, but when I bring the host from Maintenance Mode it fails to configure HA.

The error msg is: "vSphere HA agent for this host has an error: vSphere HA agent cannot be correctly installed or configured."

It seems that it times-out because it quickly reaches 56% than sluggish moves forward.

I have tried to reboot the host again, restart hostd/vpxa mgmt agents, restart HA agent manually, still no joy. Host is in maintenance mode at the moment

The host can see all datastores.

HA Cluster currently running on the remaining 2x hosts

From the fdm logs I can see Election errors

warning 'Election' ...... Master => Startup : Election error

info 'CLuster' ............ Change state to Startup:0

Any ideas on how to tshoot this?

Can you uncheck HA at Cluster level wait for 1 hour and select it again?

Let me know how it goes?
