Host Hardware status Unknown HP ML350p and HP DL380 G7

VMware ESXi 5.1.0 Build 799733

The Host Hardware status is unknown.  When I click refresh it stays unknown.

When I try a reset it says Call "HostHealthStatusSystem.ResetSystemHealthInfo" for object "healthStatusSystem" on ESXi "192.168.0.3" failed.

When I try a CLI reset from here http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=103733...

I get a more detailed a similar error

PowerCLI C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\vSphere PowerCLI> (Get-View (Get

-VMHost -Name 192.168.0.3 | Get-View).ConfigManager.HealthStatusSystem).ResetSys

temHealthInfo()

em error occurred: Reset System Health Failed for One or More Sensors"

sSystem).ResetSystemHealthInfo <<<< ()

This is happening on two servers.

A reboot allows the sensors to last for a wee while, but they will generally stop working a few weeks after.

Any ideas?
