Ho to migrate VMs from VMware Server 2.0 to VMware ESXi 5?

Hi,

I have a server running VMware server 2.0 and carrying a dozen of VMs.

Currently we purchased VMware ESXi and I need to migrate all this stuff to the new environment.

I tried to use VMware vCenter Converter (standalone) 5.0, but it crashes when I try to connect to the destination server. I succeeded to convert VM to VMware Workstation 8.0 VM, but I cannot find an option in vSphere Client to adopt or import this VM.

Please suggest a way to proceed with the requiered conversion.

Hi!

We did it with Standalone version of converter.

Worked like a champ Smiley Happy

The current version of VMware's Converter 5.0 has an issue with ESXi 5.1 targets, so you may need to use an older converter version to do the job. Please take a look at http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2033315 for details.
