High CPU Usage on Host

Hi every one,

Today I had an issue with a host, it showed all the CPU used and all de VMs in that host had troubles.

The host has 2 CPU with 16 cores each one at 2.3Ghz and 128GB RAM. The cluster has 6 host with the same characteristics.   

The esxi versión is 5.1.0,1065491

I attached an image showing the host usage on the cluster,

I think this is a very strange issue, in my experience the host first run out of memory and the CPU is never over 10%, my question is Does any body knows if there is a bug o patch related to this behavior

I don't think there is enough information here to help identify the root cause. I haven't seen this before, but would suggest running esxtop and having a look at the advanced CPU performance charts to see what's going on. The log files would be useful as well.

We could not get to much information, we raise a ticket at VMware through HP support and they told us that the server stop recording logs one day before we detect the problem.

As we have other server we decide to move some VMs to free resources
