Hi everyone,
We are allowing select clients access to their own VMs via the vSphere Web Client with highly restricted privileges.
I created a new role with only the following privileges:
Virtual Machine / Interaction
- console interaction
- power on
- power off
- reset
I applied the role/AD group to a folder in which several VMs live.
When I was testing in vSphere Web Client with an appropriate user, I noticed that the Monitor, Manage, and Related Objects tabs is available. We don't want to expose the information contained in these tabs.
Is there a way to prevent this, ie. hide the tabs?
Thanks!
AFAIK the tabs would be visible but the options would be grayed out.
The web client interface does not change , just the number of options available as you provide the permissions to the user.
No, the Monitor tab is available including the Issues, Performance, Resource Allocation, Tasks, and Events tabs (including their content).
We don't want the client to be able to see any of these.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
This is not available using vSphere Client or the Web-Client right now unless you raise a feature request with VMware.
