Hi,
I purchased Vmware Vsphere 6 standard license. I would like to know few things before installation.
I have two vm's in vmware workstation 9 on Dell R730 server (Win 2012 R2). We need to install vmware vsphere 6 on seperate server/pc and link and upgrade existing vm's to vsphere. Since we don't want to format Dell R730 server which has 2 vmware machines, please guide how i can proceed.
Best Regards,
So you have 1 server running Workstation with 2 VMs and a 2nd server running ESXi 6 and you want to get the VMs onto the ESXi host? If so you should be able to export/import using the steps in this KB article - VMs will need to be shut down. Exporting virtual machines from VMware Workstation to ESX/ESXi (1012258) | VMware KB
Discussion moved from CloudCred to VMware ESXi 6
HI ,
You may try VMware vCenter Converter Standalone for moving the VM from work station to ESXi host
Hi ,
It is the easiest way to do , below is the steps . For me it worked .
Browse Source Machine vmx file and check the configuration
Target esxi / vcenter
