Help on how to install Esxi on a VM workstation 10

Kindly assist, I am trying to install Esxi iso file in my Windows machine that is running VM workstation 10, but it did not load properly, comes up with an error loading /misc_dri.v00

fatal error: 6 (buffer too small).

or should I just boot the windows workstation directly from the esxi image?

Welcome to the Community,

this looks like the installation image (.iso) is corrupt. Did you already verify its MD5 checksum?

thanks Andre,

NO, I did not download the image(iso) directly from the vmware site, I collected it from a friend. Cant download from the site presently, it says download technical issues : unable to process the request, please try again later

Another reason maybe that not enough RAM is assigned - if the installer launches with 1024 MB RAM or less similar error messages appear.

For the setup you need 4 GB RAM and 2 vCPUs - it fails when this specs are not matched
