i want make an host for ESXi 5.0 U1

I wonder if the components I want to buy are compatible with ESXi 5.0u1

Here are the components:

MOTHERBOARD     ASUS M5A88-M EVO

CPU          AMD FX 8120 Socket AM3 3.1GHz L2 8Mo

RAM          Corsair Mémoire PC Value Select 8 Go DDR3-1333 X2

HDD          Corsair 30Go Nova Series 2 SSD

None of those will be on the VMware Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) but --

Also,  make sure whatever CPUs you use have SLAT capability -- that will give  you more options for your lab -- now and in the future:

i 've finally buy an ASUS M5A88-M EVO Motherbord and 4 X 8Gb

i 've buy an OCS Vertex 60 Go Hard drive for operating system

Although it is not on the HCL everything works fine.

Even Realtek network card built is detected.

One question, does this kit supports IOMMU(similar to Vt-d)? I am planning to buy asus M5A99fx pro R 2.0 + FX8120 eight core buldozer.

This mainboard is having 990FX chipset which is said to support full IOMMU. I don't know about SLAT support.

moreover all rtl 8111 ethernet controller supports ESXI 5.x so as to this mainboard.

How do we know if it takes care of the IOMMU and SLAT?

It is written in concern to windows 8 but its true for ESXi.

This has eqivalent passthrough to intel s1200btl+ xeon 1200 processor combo.

now trying to passthrough on board soundcard to Win7 VM.
