Hardware version 12, when?

Does anyone know when hardware version 12 will be available for VMs running under ESXi 6?    There is an issue with the Linux Cinnamon desktop under version 11 where the foreground windows are translucent and allow what's underneath to bleed through into them, making them difficult to read.  This is a bug in OpenGL 2 in combination with the VMWare video drivers, but it works fine with OpenGL 3 which is supported under hardware version 12 that is already out in the latest VMWare workstation product.

If there is any problem on VMware drivers on guest machine, you need to install latest VMware Tools package and you problem may be resolved.

I'm afraid that doesn't do the trick.  I installed Mint on a current copy of ESXi 6 with the latest hardware version (version 11), installed the current VMWare tools,  and had the problem.  I used VMWare Converter to convert the VM to the latest Workstation product and still had the problem with Hardware version 11.  As soon as I upgraded to hardware version 12 on Workstation the problem went away.   Others have noted the same issue.  Hardware version 12 the only fix for this as far as I know.
