HP P410i Controller

Hello,

I'd like to know if there are known problems installing an ESXi 5.1 on a RAID 1 array built on a HP P410i "zero-memory" of a HP ML330 G6 server equipped with 2 SATA disks.

I've seen on the forum and I don't understand if "zero-memory" version is compatible or not.

Many thanks

Claudio

In this case, it won't matter much if the controller is supported or not ... The performance will be terrible when you choose to use the controller without Array Accelerator Cache/memory module ... That's basically what zero-memory means...

I can only advice to spring for the memory...

I absolutely agree with spravtek about the performance impact.

If you want to go with the Zero Memory Controller anyway, make sure you have the latest firmware applied (see HP Customer Advisory http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?locale=en_US&objectID=c03343902)
