Hi there,
Would I be correct in thinking that HP have a downloadable ISO for ESXi5 which contains all the relevant drivers for their Proliant platform?
I'm using HP DL580 G7s and rather than using the ISO image directly from the VMware site, I heard that it would be better to get the one from HP as it contains all the necessary drivers?
If this is correct, can someone please point me in the right direction to the dowload.
Many thanks in advance
Try this link for ESXi5 https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=HPVM09&jumpid=reg_r100...
Although it's pretty simple just installing the offline bundle with the VMware ISO.
here is the direct link to the offline bundle for your hardware
also, a good bookmark below

Hi Troy, thanks for the quick response.
The offlline bundle would have to be used in conjuction with update manager?
I'm looking to do this directly from the ESX host either by uploading the files to a datastore or even burning to a cd.
Is this possible?
Thanks
Hi,
Yes you can go with the HP image having hardware drivers and ESXi
For more clearification go to below mention link.
yes, you can install the bundle using VUM. In the link provided above, there are instructions on how to install using VUM.
The ISO including offline bundle is available on the link I sent, you will need to either create or login to the HP passport to obtain the software.
Cheers
